A Taste of Africa

The coffee journey continues to go on! Even though I am still in Statesboro at Three Tree Coffee Roasters, I have been able to enjoy freshly ground and roasted coffee beans all the way from the Gitwe Hill Region in Burundi. I tried a 12 oz. Burundi AeroPress, and I was pleasantly surprised by how similar it was to the smooth texture of the French press method.

AeroPress involves total submersion of the grounds into the hot water, and this process provides a more even extraction of the coffee grounds. The Burundi blend usually takes much longer to brew, so I was super glad to learn that the AeroPress method reduces both the time it takes to brew and the acidity levels of the finished drink because of the shorter brew time.

The tasting notes were listed as follows: Black Cherry Gusher, Raspberry Sherbet, and Juicy Tomato. Basically, all of these hinted towards the gourmet, fruity flavor. It was bold and rich as well, so if you are a fan of fruit, this is the brew for you! Overall, I would say this scores a healthy 4.0 out of 5 stars! Have a wonderful Sunday, and an awesome new week!
